I'll give you a related story: we have an acrimonious debate going on in Australia about marriage equality and recently some NO supporters painted "It's OK to say no" on a wall next to a pizza shop in Tasmania. The pizza shop owner retaliated by adding the word "to pineapple on pizza."

I actually like pineapple pizza, but not with ham.

I personally find that unappealing. But you don't choose what you like and don't like. It's normal.
