Is it normal to act black for fun?

Okay, for some reason, my brother and I call each other "nigga" all the time and we love quoting black cinema, such as Antwoine Fisher, Menace 2 Society, Harlem Nights, Boyz in tha Hood, Boondocks, Bullworth (it counts). We love acting like ghetto black people for fun. Seriously, we will call each other and say,

"Sup, bitch ass, nickuh?"

"Nuttin', who da fuck you think you is, Ron Oneal, nigga? Oh yeah, mom just got out of the hospital."

"Cool. Later, nig."

We are both white boys from the suburbs.

Sometimes I act blue. Sometimes I act green. And on special occasions, I act like sparkles.

I think its normal and there's nothing wrong it. All my friends do that stuff. Here's why its not racist. Racism is discriminating based on a color, race, etc. What you are doing is making fun of a sub-culture, an american one. The black community are the ones strongly leading and pushing this sub culture forward. Its just like making fun of tree huggers freaking out over every little thing to a point of ridiculousness. In doing so you are mocking a style, lingo, terrible fashion, and a lifestyle. NOT a race or color. Now if you begin to make it too racial and out of hatred than that's racism

  • I'm black but people think I act like a "White girl" so I act like a stereotypical black person because it makes people laugh. I also sometimes act like a Japanese person, Latino, Or Indian person. It's not a bad thing as long as it's all in good fun.

As completely racist as that was...it still made me laugh b/c I actually hear "ghetto black people" talk like that all the time. Btw I also lump "ghetto white people" into the same category and don't judge based on skin color, although I will admit to occasionally judging based on clothing and overall attitude.

I'm a black woman, and I feel like, that's ok to "act black" in private, and I don't feel like it's that much racist, but I feel like if you do it in private, around black people and are laughing about it, it's a bit racist.

  • That's not cool anymore. You need to talk the ''bro'' language today.

Me and my bestfriend do this too! who are both white girls from the country. We text eachother talking like that. And we've sometimes whisper back and forth like that in public. Actually, we were just at the Detroit Zoo and did this upon hearing people talking like that.
