Is it normal to always be more trusting of people your age?

I noticed that people tend to be a lot more trusting with people same age as them vs someone who is older. If a stranger the same age says hi they are more likely to reply. If someone is younger they are more likely to set trust in this person. People also seem to test same gender more often. Is this normal? This was a observation I have made.

People have an inherent fear and distrust of the unknown and different. So it makes sense that people are more trusting of others of the same age and gender.

Interesting. I'm usually more "trusting" with people who are older than me, but it does matter if I know them. An acquaintance or a friend could say "Hi." but if a complete stranger tried to have a conversation with me I'd be a bit weirded out.

I wouldn't 'set trust' in anyone who just randomly talks to me on the street. It takes a bit more than 'hello' for me. They all just want to touch my butt anyway, those cheeky bastards.

    • May I please touch it? I did ask politely.

        • I was only joking my dear. Also I touch no ones behind without asking first. *wink wink*

I typically trust people older than myself but that might be because I don't act my age. Younger people are more reckless and not as experienced so that's my reasoning.
