Is it normal to always carry around a sharp object?

I have a thing and it's like a blade and it's in a plastic thing and if you want to use it, you have to slide it up. (sorry I'm not good at describing things)

And I've recently been carrying it around with me wherever I go just incase I need to self-harm. I put it in my bra every time I go out.

Is this normal?

I used to carry around a butterfly knife, but that was for protection

It's one of those small cheap box cutters.

Anyway, you need help for your self-harming. Do you have anyone you trust you can talk to about what's stressing you out or making you feel trapped/sad?

I know exactly which thing you are talking about.
I think it's a thing that carpenters use. Do you push the thing and the blade that comes out has a 45' angle?

    • No. It's quite small. I think people mostly use it to open up parcels or something. I have no idea. But I do have to push something up to get it out.
