Is it normal to always lock the bathroom door?

I've noticed a lot of people never lock the door when they use the toilet, even if other people (like family) are home. I feel disgusted if I accidentally walk in on someone in the house using the bathroom, and wouldn't want someone walking in on me so I always make sure to lock the door.

Even when living in my own apartment I do it, even though I always keep the door into my apartment locked as well, so I know for sure nobody could get inside. One of the few exceptions is when I wake up in the middle of the night and I'm too tired to bother locking it. Also a couple of times when I lived with my bf and he was brushing his teeth I could walk in and pee even though he was in the same room (he didn't care lol).

Is it normal to always lock the door even if I'm alone, yet having no problem peeing when bf is in the room?

    I used to always lock the door but my new (then) wife pointed out that in an emergency, it could be impossible to reach say a heart attack victim. Heart attacks are not unknown while pooping. she started coming in with me and just sitting on the bath edge and talking, eventually, I was able to wipe myself while she watched. It became obvious that it was a lot of fuss about nothing. We not often visit the toilet together, whatever the purpose. It even becomes sexual sometimes - makes a nice change.

    I live alone with my Siamese cat and I always leave the door open so he can come and go as he pleases. If I close the door I never lock it because he can open and close doors. It's funny when my folks come over and my cat just opens the bathroom door and walks in on one of them!

    Of course you lock the bathroom door!. Imagine this!, Robber enters your home, your pooping. How are you going to defend yourself?. You can't!, ever try to scare a cat when its in the letter box?. You can't!, they are paralyzed. Paralyzed while pooping and you will be too.
