My brother is constantly making car noises. He makes engine sounds and pretends like he is driving and shifting. He does it in public or just sitting around watching tv. It is very annoying and embarrassing to be with him in public when he does this. He is 20 by the way..
I love how people are diagnosing this guy. I'll chip in. Maybe he's just an idiot kid.
Hehe I do it sometimes but usually when driving...and im quite a bit older. It may be an automatic but its a manual in my mind.
He could have an autistic spectrum disorder or another type of developmental delay.
Then again, my brother is about the same age as yours and constantly makes weird little faces and does weird little dances when he and I are by ourselves. He does it intentionally though, and it's like an inside joke thing between us.
In your brother's case, it all depends on whether or not he knows if what he's doing is socially unacceptable. If your brother is autistic, he either doesn't realize or doesn't care that what he's doing is socially unacceptable. If your brother is like mine, however, he's just being weird for the sake of being weird. Brothers are strange.
If it bothers you too much you could always just tell him that you don't want to go out in public with him. Does he have some kind of mental disorder?
