Is it normal to always put "..."

Whenever I am texting someone or instant messaging, I always type "..." at the end of sentences. It's like a single period just wont do, it has to be "..." People always get confused and go "WTF is ...?" I guess it means like awkward silence, or like I'm staring at the person... I just don't know! So please, is it normal?

I do that too I think for me it represents a pause meaning your waiting on a response

I do it all the time as dane cook says it just gives the reader a nice pause to rest their eyes. I try not to do it on here but it's a hard habit to break

It's true^. Putting just a single period makes it sound very serious. Unless you're texting your boss or somebody professional. But just writing a friendly message to your friends with "..." seems perfectly fine!

same, i think a period on a casual chat looks a bit harsh. i only use it when i am mad or trying to make a serious point.................

I do the same thing! Just a habit I guess, but just like you some people have asked me about it. It's hard to explain...
