Is it normal to always sit with my legs up?

I'm so uncomfortable sitting on elevated surfaces. I always have to draw my legs up to sit like i'm in the fetal position. My boss gets mad that I can't sit normal, but I can't help it. if I sit with my legs down, I automatically pull them up.
Also, I prefer sitting on flat ground than a chair or a bench.

That's probably for the best, considering the desk gremlins.

I'm the same way, so I obviously think it's normal. I only like to sit criss-crossed, or hugging my knees. I become really uncomfortable in any other position if I sit like it too long.

i do this too. usually indian style but i like to hug my knees too. especially hate sitting with my legs down while eating. used to get in trouble for it at the dinner table growing up. and my desk chair at work has pits that my boots wore in my chair. i think it's normal, maybe kind of an eastern thing.

    • I'm not from the eastern side though. Not sure really where I am, but no one here seems to have the same problem.
Normally, people would say that sitting with your legs up will cut off circulation and start hurting, but that's true for me ONLY with my legs normal like everyone else.
(SIGH, i'm sitting like this right now, ever since I got in my office)

i meant eastern as in asia. where people tend to sit on the ground, but yeah, it hurts my knees if i don't sit on my legs.

Well, regardless, I'm not over there. LOL, I'm in Hawaii, but I am part Japanese. Although no one else in my family does this.

This position is usually related to people who need more love.
By the way if you're a girl and wear a dress, won't you be revealing yourself?

Are you short? I'm short. My feet don't rest flat on the ground in most chairs. They dangle and it makes my back sore to sit like that for any length of time. I always sit with my legs up or under me. In fact, I'm sitting like that right now.

    • hmm, never thought of it like that. yeah, i'm 5'4" but even if my feet can rest flat i still sit with my legs up. lol, me too.

I sit on the floor like that. Knees in my chest, feet off the floor, rocking slightly. Perhaps I'm crazy. Butt I have good balance
