Is it normal to always want to stay in?

I'm 23. I have a 19 year old sister and we have a lot of mutual friends because we work together, they range in ages from 18 to 28. Every week they find some excuse to go out and get drunk. Like literally, for most of them 'getting drunk' is the actual aim. I don't get it. I tried it once and I just hated the noise and the people and people vomiting everywhere. Even when there's no vomit I still don't drink... I just feel left out because everyone is off their faces and I would rather be in control of my cognitive function.

So I stay in every week while they all go out. I watch TV or work on art projects or whatever. At first I had to make up excuses but now they all just accept that I'm a 'bit weird' and prefer to stay in. But it has led to them being a much tighter group and I feel like I don't have any close friends anymore. And all the boys I know are really into that scene and I know I could never date any of them because they would get bored of me quickly. I'm worried that I'm going to keep getting older without meeting anyone who is okay with me just staying in every night. Does anyone else feel this same way?

You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders. I wonder if you would enjoy going out more if the goal of the majority of the people you were with wasn't just to get drunk. It's such an exhausting trend. A guy worth his salt will respect you for not wanting to be drunk every single weekend, and the men who appreciate this-while they are tough to find- do exist.
