Is it normal to apologize to inanimate objects?
Sometimes when I bump into things like tables, refrigerators, or other non living things I apologize. I get weird looks but if I don't say sorry, I feel guilty. The poor things.

I do that when I accidentally injure a tree or plant. I don't apologise to furniture.
I do that too. I feel like it would be rude not to say sorry to them and that I might hurt their feelings.
I have to share this with you....
When my son was a toddler he wanted a green teddy for Xmas. We searched every shop and found one that had every other colour except green. However, as he lifted down a blue one he dislodged some of the various colours knocking them onto the floor.
He lifted them up one by one, said sorry, and kissed them better before putting them back on the shelf. Must've taken him a good 5 minutes and in the meantime the customers had all come to a standstill watching him and sniggering.
Soooooo cute I'll never forget it!!
Before leaving the house he used to say goodbye to all the items in the living room - while I waited patiently (laughing) Bye bye TV, bye bye chair, bye bye lamp .... :o)
Do you generally apologize often? I find myself apologizing to things, but I often apologize a lot to people as well.
No, I don't do that and if someone did that around me then I would probably give them a funny look.
*raises eyebrow.
