Is it normal to arrive with changes?

just about in 4 days i arrived in south africa, i traveled there by car, the flight from vietnam was about 3 hours and 2 hours by boat to central africa, i was feeling ok at this time
later on the trip we had some food, while the food was being prepared a very strong odor of onions were present, and even one of the chefs was a really huge person talking about he needed to go home to his swamp or something, looking nearly green in his face, we didnt hear from him tho.
so it was all going really fine, but a few hours after i had eaten the meal along with 10 other somalian caucasian looking guys i started feeling really weird.. i felt like yesterday a jellyfish, and i could only feel my hands
but they say in the capital its very common, they call it ''ogge'' or it sounds more like ''orgre'' not sure what i should do with that..
im abit dizzy today and my skin turned slightly darker, but i think its just my eyes because it nearly looks greenish
my ears feel abit weird aswell. but is this normal after being in europe??
