Is it normal to ask a former teacher for advice?

I had a teacher in high school that I went to for advice. She helped me out a lot through my darkest times back then. I was wondering if it's normal to ask her for advice now that I've been out of school for a few years?

    In high school I also had a teacher who made a big impact on my life, and I still go back and talk to him whenever I have a heavy mind. I think it is normal to go back to important people, in our case, teachers, for advice.
