When traveling and the phone doesn't work or you don't want to/can't use it you walk up to a random person and ask them to call a taxi for you to that location. Maybe give $5...

    Why not? I don't see any harm in it. It's not as if you're asking them to pay it for you ;o) and it's no great inconvenience for them.
