Is it normal to associate smoking with bad people

You're not always a bad person when you smoke. My mother died from cancer a few years ago, but she was an absolutely wonderful person. :) And it depends on your attitude too. So, no. xP Anti-smoking propaganda is publicized for all the wrong reasons. I believe it should be about saving peoples' lives, because they have family members who would most likely suffer without them.

I don't think people should associate smoking with being a "bad person". One thing to remember is most people who smoke wishes they could stop. At least I do. I have a clean criminal record, I've never done drugs or been in trouble with the law, but I smoke. There is nothing wrong with it. Some people do and some people don't. I wouldn't say it's "normal" to associate smoking with bad people. I would say it's all the anti smoking crap making people go crazy about smokers. After all, most little children now a days know "smoking is bad" since they are taught that in school...

All this talk about smoking makes me want a cigg. xD

The rebel image of smoking is largely due in part to successful advertising... At least with advertising of cigarette brands that target men. You'd be amazed at how many bases tobacco companies cover in advertising.

It's because Hollywood bad boys always smoke. Hence why teenage boys start smoking because they think it looks hard.

I don't associate it with anything, you never know who is a smoker until you see them with a cigarette etc.
