is it normal to only listen to music with my head down avoiding contact with other people when switching classes and just really anytime at school

    Most likely if you don't do anything, people will approach you. Don't walk up to them, or you will be following them. Let them follow you.

    I always avoid people like that. I lost my ipod for awhile and being obligated to talk to the annoying ass people on my bus was probably the most irritating way to start my day.
