Is it normal to avoid talking on the phone?

Is it normal that at all costs I avoid contacting people by telephone. I feel so awkward when I can't see who I am talking to and I get so nervous. Whenever I order pizza, for example, I order online, not by phone. If I have a choice, I will email somebody rather than call.

  • I am the same way. I hate talking on the phone because more often than not I can't hear what they are saying. Sounds like a lot of mumbling.

Just to say, "NJDevils10" is an idiot. It's nothing to do with being a 'social reject' it's just that you prefer the idea of preparing what you say by typing it rather than stuttering it out in a more 'face to face' environment. I'm exactly the same. I fucking hate talking on the phone even when it's just with my friend.

I think it's normal. I don't like talking on the phone and I tell my friend that, but she just thinks I don't like her. I'd much rather talk in person or text.

I agree. I talk on the phone all day at work, so when I go home, I really try to avoid my phone, lol.

You have to get out of the house more and get off the Internet for fucks sake. Go outside, get a nice tan, go to the gym, and eat healthy and you won't be a social reject anymore.
