Is it normal to barely use my phone on long trips?

So on car rides that are 1-2 hours long I would only use my phone for about 20 mins total. I usually just look outside at the(not very interesting) scenery. I don't really talk if there's anyone in the car either. I just stare outside.

    Hmm, I do that too. Well I use my phone for music on long car rides, so I use my phone AND stare outside at the same time
