Is it normal to be a vegetarian man?

I work in the moving industry where husky fellows are usually valued due to their strength and appearance. About 2 years ago I turned vegetarian and I constantly hear slander from my co-workers and boss about my diet change and their concern for lacking protein. Currently, I am one of the senior reps of the company and in order to get jobs done without any mistakes, I am usually the one carrying the heaviest furniture. I normally do not take breaks, aside from lunch, unless I need water or a quick snack and I work from 7am-god knows when I get done (summer times can end at 10pm or later which are a most of the days). I don't really care all that much that these people give me a hard time about my diet habits, mostly because I run circles around those who give me the most shit, but I still wonder how many vegetarian/vegan males are out there and why people have such a taboo about it.

Yes, it's normal for people to be ignorant, unfortunately.

  • Yeah, it's interesting how the moment it's known that you're a vegetarian or a vegan everyone around you suddenly becomes an expert nutritionist.

Just stay hydrated and keep your nutrition up. Protein isn't just in meats. Vitamins and minerals are essential though or else you'll burn out faster on those long days
