Is it normal to be addicted to my own company?

1 year ago i started a business on the internet, i have made it grow a constant 150%% to 200%% each month, I can invest on stocking or sort now, but for me its never enough, I have fired 6 employees now in a row because they dont put their souls on this, i sleep 1 hour and check earnings every hour, lately ive tried to check other stuff and found this just to relax, i dont pay atention to people anymore, i think theyre just jealous of my money

Look it's Mr. Burns from the Simpsons!

It's not normal, and it's bad for you and the people you care about and who care about you - oh wait those people don't exist any more. I mean it was bad for those people who cared about you, until you withdrew and they moved on with their lives.

By the way most people don't know exactly how much is in your bank account and there are so many rich people today that if someone is going to be jealous of another person's wealth there are very many people to pick from that the probability of everyone you know picking you to be jealous of is not that high. In fact a lot of people are happy when someone they know is successful because such associations come with perks - name dropping, going to great parties and maybe succeeding themselves due to the connections. If someone is paying attention or watching you it's probably because they think they can learn something from you or you can mentor them which we now know is impossible since you are on your own planet with a few hostile moons zinging around you, people are not paying attention to you as much as you think.

While you are still in this phase, do not try to get married or have kids. You would be a disastrous psuedo-husband (your wife would have to be constantly cheating on you to be happy and you would be bankrolling the cheating) and you would be a punishment to your kids - they would be better off with a different Dad.

    Now to practical matters:
Most people are not jealous of you.
It's ok for people to be A LOT less obsessed than you are about your business in fact having such people around could help you keep your obsessiveness in check.
Are the things you're doing really helping your bottom line? How is checking the earnings every hour going to change things, are you going to act on the results each hour? What if the trends are contradicting in the short term?

If you are sleeping one hour per day, your mental performance, effectiveness and judgment will be severely distorted and you might as well be working completely drunk. If you keep this up for long you are going to be totally useless, a five year old will be able to make better decisions than you, what's more you'll get a heart attack and die. If you can't make yourself sleep - go to the doctor, you're probably anxious and stressed.

As for not interacting with people, if it's because you are too busy, that's fine; if it's because you think they are jealous, that's paranoia, again a doctor can help you with that.

Freaking out about your business and jumping up and down mentally is not going to help it become more successful and will in fact make you less effective.

Congratulations and good luck on the business. But you need to chill out and also get over yourself, you have become a caricature.

  • I guess its normal
    but its not exactly good
the money thing is obviously twisting your mind set
you think ppl are jealous? what makes you think that? maybe im wrong, but you've changed, thats a big red flag
    avoiding ppl, another flag
ppl need blance in their life
you should be getting more sleep
and if this is your life... money.. than what are you going to do in the end?
    think about it
    you'll be alone
this has happend to so many ppl...
don't let it happen to you

totally normal. Your company is your heart and soul. I've tossed ideas back and forth, waiting for something I can put every waking hour into.

Yes, I think this is totally normal. You haveto put your heart and soul into any business to make it work to its full potential. And any employee that doesnt enhance the company needs to either buck their ideas up or leave. At least when you are the business director, you have the ability to hire and fire as you please. I would actually appreciate your input into my "is it normal" question (Is it normal to be angered by an employee)
