It's normal because it's your personal preference and we all have the right to choose whatever we want to listen to. However, I would encourage you to broaden your horizons...it won't kill you to listen to something else, have an open mind! Besides, rap is so negative! Why choose to let that negativity enter your ears and mind?

If you want real old school, try listening to some of the artists from the 80's...they were ok, but still, rap is not my thing!

Classic rap from the 90's and 80's was great but modern rap is horrible. It's auto-tuned and has no real feeling to it.

Yes, I love it too! But I must say that you're missing out on a LOT of wonderful music that isn't rap...

  • I love rap. I also listen to other forms of music but rap is my all time favorite.

My fav rappers today are Eminem, tupac, biggie, devin the dude, bone thugs, outkast, nas, kendrick lamar, joey bada$$, asap rocky, schoolboy Q, ofwgkta, danny brown, tech n9ne, flatbush zombies, drake, lil wayne, kanye west, lupe fiasco, yelawolf, ab-soul, NWA, and T.I.

    Lol not in that order.

      • Lolz most of the rappers i named dont have an album out lol just mixtapes. I wanted to throw in some new school artist so that i didnt seem like a 90's hipster.

I left out alot of rappers that i do like tho lol hard to name them all.

hahaha the new school are really lame, they are either copying the old ones or just bragging about their stuff! im sick of these rappers

          • Their are alot of new school lames. Joey bada$$ can be called a 90's "swagger jacker" because he used alot of 90's beats on his mixtape. But there is alot of rappers that donrlt copy the old school and alot of rappers that are original. Like danny brown.

Black hippy (ab-soul, kendrick lamar, jay rock, schoolboy q) is a group that doesnt always talk about their money.

Alot of new school rappers are very talented you just have to find them.

Why do you have to be from the 'hood' to listen to rap? People have the right, freedom, and choice to listen to whatever pleases their ears! Although I hate rap, I don't condemn another for listening to it...despite his/her ethnicity. You need to grow up and respect others choices.

Why should I respect a style of music that defiles us as humans? Sure, there are some artists who rap beyond the stereotypes...but they are few and far in between. What is there to respect about it? Even though I grew up in the 'hood' I was never impressed with the music...then or now! I simply chose to rise above the nonsense...and manifest in a way that proves where I come from; will not keep me in bondage.
