Is it normal to be afraid of alpacas..?
O.K....Let me set the scene.
Many summers ago, my sister got a job at this ranch on the outskirts of the town I still live, this ranch had 4wheelers to ride/play on and make sure all the lines/field sprinklers are working and checking the bubbler for the well, ect. Lots of animals too, magpies which I didn't give a crap about, a few goats *they reak* a cow and a couple of horses *oh also dogs a dn cats but thats like a given on a ranch right?* anywhoodles.
So my sister turns to me and says.."Sheila...I'm going to give this horse some saltlick...don't freak out or be weird, just..stay by the gate and make sure no animals get out, the ownerrs would be pissed, so" and I'm like "o.k. whatever, just do your thing". So I'm looking down and petting this lil goat...when, I hear/feel pounding slow movement coming towards me, then I heard it closer and grass and hay crunched beneath whatever the hell that was walking my way(s) feet.
I grabbed the top bar of the fence and looked up..this ignorant ass...bucktoothed shaggy mofo with the sniffle did NOT spit on me, so don't be jumping to conclusions of llama charactaristics, too late for that, it was a case of the sniffles, he sneezed and there was no blockage. I literally fell backwards like a well balanced fainting goat, I ran to Sarah's *my sister* car as fast I could locked all the doors and chilled on the floorboard listening to whatever music was on my wannabe ipod *cough zen cough*...
I had enough...ever since then, we'll be driving out to Palisades for pool or getting onto the Freeway...damn there's Llamas/Alpacas all over here I should seriously consider moving...also like 50-100 miles within my residence there's an establishment called Llama Joy *smacks forehead*...what are the odds?
So Is This Normal...Perhaps PTSD involving another mammal, just a sniffly one who can produce lovely sweaters and warm gloves. :).
