Is it normal to be afraid of hospitals because i dont have health care

So a few days a go, my belay team in adventure ed decided to not belay me and let me fall to my almost death when getting off the wall. I fell a solid 15 feet and broke my arm... The problem, i dont want to go to the hospital in fear that they wont fix it because i dont have any health insurance... Is this a normal fear and what do i do?

    I think it's normal. I sort of fear getting seriously injured because I don't have health care and hospitals in American can make you bankrupt. I hate that about American hospitals, all they do is put you in bankruptcy and the insurance companies just laugh at your claim.

    Sadly I don't have any advice because if I was in your shoes I wouldn't go to a hospital either.

    How does it actually work in the US? Do they ask at the hospital for proof you have private health cover before they'll look after you? That's totally barbaric!

    The health system here in Australia isn't perfect but it's heaps better than that

    Why don't you have a health insurance? Isn't that a must?

      It's more like a privilege in a America, not really a necessity according to our government.

        It would become a necessity if people in our government needed hospital care... Its also sucky how the hospital will pay for the fact that i went to the ER but i cant get the surgery because the government thinks it a privilege to have a functioning arm ( or whatever the problem is)

          I know right, our government is flawed in so many ways. What did they even do at the ER then if you got dragged there and they didn't do surgery?

            Well i guess im paying for xrays but because im not covered, they gave me a cast and said if i get insurance or something like that, they will re-break it and then surgically fix it :/

        Well that's weird. Here you have to have a health insurance when youre 18. Untill youre 18th it's paid by your parents because they have healt insurances.
