Is it normal to be afraid of knowledge?

Isn't that weird that when I do something I'm afraid to look up its meanings and end up not knowing anything?

For example: When I listen to music, I'm too lazy to look up the lyrics and all that, and finally end up thinking all songs are boring. Except for some that sound good so I don't really care about the lyrics, but I know this is not good.

Other times like when I do a research or something, again, I'm always afraid/lazy to explore its meanings, and end up not getting anything done.

This has been a serious problem for me, so if you would offer some advices I would greatly appreciated that!

It doesn't sound like you're afraid. It sounds more like you don't have the motivation, or the patience to sit down, look up, and look over the information on these things that you wish to know more about.

If the knowledge will help me succeed in life and eventually take over Canada (I've had that dream since I was 6), then I would love to obtain more knowledge. I'm not actually going to take over Canada. Maybe. MWUAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA-

If I'm running through a long hallway and I hear something following me, I do NOT want to know what it is. Just like I would rather not know the date of my death. Scary knowledge is not fun to know.

Yes! I always find the answers I WANT, but ignore the other side to the argument, but end up reading the other side because it's NOT normal to find the answer you only WANT. you have see the problem from all sides of the argument to make a logical solution.

I often have no idea what the lyrics I hear are actually saying. But I know what I like. When I look up the lyrics, I am surprised at how much more I like the song.

It's okay to change your mind when confronted with new ideas and meanings. Don't be afraid of truth, it only brings you deeper understanding.
