Is it normal to be afraid of using the bathroom in public?
I have a general fear of using public restrooms. I don't like the fact that people can hear me pee or the dirtiness. Even when I was pregnant.. I would wait till I was home. Is this normal?

You're a women right...? So I dont know what you're so worried about, you haven't seen male public bathrooms...
Honestly, what I see in male public bathrooms makes me lose faith in humanity.
Nobody likes public bathrooms. I never heard of anyone dying from using a public bathroom though.
Completely normal. If you actually have difficulty peeing aside from just fear, it can fall under 'paruresis'.. And if that's the case, I strongly recommend the book 'Freedom From Fear' by Dr. Liebgold. It's a general book about anxieties and the tools to overcome them, but they do describe 'hierarchies' and what not for different phobias such as paruresis, and how to make your own. I wouldn't recommend it if I hadn't had this problem myself, and it's the first thing I've found that works to help with the fear. I can actually use public bathrooms now.
