Is it normal to be afraid of wild mushrooms growing out of the ground

Is it normal to be afraid of wild mushrooms. They freak me out. Especially if they are growing in a weird place due to moisture like a carpet or cabinet.
If the mushroom is growing in clusters the more scared I get. I will literally start itching and turning red. The mushrooms at the grocery store I'm fine- I even eat and cook with mushroom .
I think the fear stemmed from my autistic cousin eating a bunch of wild mushrooms, years back and everyone freaking out, calling poison control. That's the only thing I can think of as a trigger. Am I normal? Write comments. Please tell me if you have an irrational fear.

I'm so glad I have never seen a mushroom growing indoors!

Mushrooms growing indoors is just disgusting, I can understand not wanting to be in a house with that.

I recall when I was a kid, my mother had this mop she didn't use for a long time and mushrooms were growing out of the mop head. It was gross. XD

I have never seen them growing in the house, but as a kid my parents used to harvest wild mushrooms after thunder storms. I never ate it, and after a family in the same town died because they picked the poisonous type, I would not even touch it.
Today I love them, but still don't trust just anybody picking them.
