Is it normal to be an anarchist?

im an anarchist (wikipedia it if youre not familiar with it) i detest my government and most if not all governments, they steal my money in the form of taxes so they can give me services i never asked for and they throw people in prison and kill them, as an american i get sick every time i see people saying the pledge, hate how people are forced into poverty, hate how i have uncle sam as another parent to keep me from doing drugs, owning automatic weapons, pulling the tag off my mattress etc etc

is it normal?

Depends if you are anarcho-capitalist or a social anarchist.

Anarcho-capitalism would just be a descent into massive slave owning corporations using free labor. There is no way for capitalism to co-exist with anarchism without slavery becoming widespread.

Social anarchism seems possible. I can't see why it wouldn't work.

because in social anarchism food becomes currency. and we need currency to get food... do you understand?

you can not buy food with food so the only real survivors are people who are farmers, fishers, hunters. people not of business or industy but only people who are self suficiant.

of course i asume there would be gang survivors aswell. "pay us a tribute and we wont kill you." edventually small governments would form. over time the anarchy just becomes a large amount of many small countries.

famine, disease, crime, war. the reason why any anarchy doesn't work is endless. furthermore anarchy is fleeting. the world evolved out of anarchy and it would do so again with new probably worse governments.

my advice is move your ass away. the united states blow balls. why would anyone want to live there?

You seem to believe anarchy means chaos when most often anarchists use it to define a nation without a central government. If we believed in out right chaos then we would simply refer to ourselves as chaosists and be done with it.

You obviously didn't even bother to look up social anarchism. For this I hold your vapid attack on a straw man version of anarchist thought to be contemptible while you yourself are beneath contempt. Also your premises are laughable beyond that, as if "famine, disease, crime and war" don't happen with states, most often these things are a product of a state.

so tell me oh wise one. how is a large community like a city going to survive without some sort of commercialism to bring food out of the country?

I'm sorry you have mistaken me for someone that gives shit about what you believe. You see unlike you I don't have some pathetic need for others to think as I do, anarchy get it?

this has nothing to do with impression foolish one.

it's just a matter of you being wrong and stupid and me pointing it out. just ask yourself how the over-populated country is going to feed its self?

wow... you seriously are foolish if you think that people can govern themselves. sure governments are soulless entities but the world will just not run in any form of anarchy because it's almost as stupid as you are.

I've got guns you've got food... guess who dies in the end?

Do I think it is normal? There is no anarchist party sweeping the nation, so no. It is normal to be a republican or democrat.

Do I think it is wise or that it works? That depends on the strength of the human conscience, and I don't know if that can adequately be tested, or weather the small percent people mostly presume would be "bad apples" wouldn't use that to then take control again......

Do I think that it is cool?.....ehhhhhh, yeah, I admit....ever since I watched Bill n Ted's excellent adventure in 6th grade and fell in love with this skater named Sean who educated me on why he was an anarchist....

And we all hate being told what to do. And rules that we think are stupid or cruel.

What kind of question is that? If you feel this is right for you then it is right. Don't wait for anyone else to confirm your choices or your beliefs. It's up to you to decide what you want to be...

Sometimes, it can be good to question and rebel. I sometimes dislike how people fail to think about how taxes are taken under a threat of jail, and how countries are land areas governed by a certain state and populated by people sharing a cultural identity rather nature-/god-given sectioning of the world.

However, make sure you don't get stuck in one-dimensional thinking in your opposition to the government. Be critical of your own thoughts.

If you had no government, the community in which you lived would still, in some way and to some extent, have rules or guidelines for people to follow. I don't know if this is what you're doing, but don't disregard the realities of the world you live in in favour of philosophical arguments. You may have arguments for freedom, but if there is a great natural tendency for people to form the social structures which you oppose, then your arguments may not be worth that much.

So why not go somewhere else then? I'm sure there are plenty of other places that will allow those things.

Well, maybe so, i'm not very geographically knowledgeable. It still sounds like he could find a place he likes better than here though. If you don't like the place you're at, then find a new place.
