Is it normal to be annoyed by people that aren't as smart as you are?

Okay, so sometimes when I'm in class I'll sit there and listen as the teachers asks another student a question. I usually know the answer to any question about the material we are learning and as I sit there and listen to the student say that they don't know the answer, I always get annoyed. It's like seriously? How do you not know the answer to that. I also feel this way when people ask me questions that I feel should be common sense.

I would say that this is normal because your ignorance has gotten on my last fucking nerve.

    You must be young.

Because the older you get the less you realize you know....only young people are self proclaimed geniuses, and older ego maniacs with an inferiority complex.

I think you aren't as smart as you think you are. An intelligent person is knowledgable but also has the patience to deal with people who may not have the same mental capacity as them. Rather than becoming angry at somebody for not knowing the answer, they would just accept the fact that not everybody has the same level of intelligence and move on rather than becoming annoyed.

Normal, but also indication you need to practice patience to be an effective member of society. Tolerating and encouraging less articulate (not necessarily less intelligent) people is really important in any leadership or team oriented role.

Funny thing is that when you get out in the world, you're going to find soooooo many people that are smarter than you. You are going to feel like the biggest asshole! When I graduated from HS, I thought I was a genius. When I graduated from college, I was truly humbled by my enormous ignorance. Experience will take care of you.

So I guess you're also the kid who couldn't catch a football to save his life. Or hit a baseball or pass a volleyball. I hated having kids like you on my team in gym class. I was like....really!?!

  • Consider yourself lucky to be getting it, and try to develop some feeling, respect & patience for those that are struggling. Don't consider teaching as a career option.

This is no joke. One time, I was sitting in Algebra, and a girl let her friend try on her prescription glasses. A third girl gasped and said, "Take those off! They gots medicine in em!"

Yes it's normal, happens to me all the time. It will only get worse with more "minorities" and our continue dysgenic path fueled by egalitarianism.

Same thing with me in math. I have so many stupid people in my class that just make annoying noises and they think they're so funny. It annoys me to death. I'd try to get into an advanced class if I were you, people will be smarter there.

It happens to everyone. And there may have been occasions when someone was annoyed by your stupidity, too. In life you won't have the right answers all the time.

I can totally relate, except I'm probably worse. I'm very impatient with people I percieve as stupid... Which is most people. I just think society is filled with a bunch of morons. It's hard to be so brilliant, isn't it?
