It might not be that common but it does happen. You may want to check with a doctor though, in case it's cause by an issue with your endocrine system.
Someone from my secondary school, who had pretty thin hair anyway, shaved it all to dress as voldemort for some fancy dress day.

If you are a dude it probably just means that you naturally have very high levels of testosterone. There are other causes of hair loss which are pretty rare but you ought to talk to your doctor.
Actually this may go to genes. My dad had sons and they are all ready to bald and they are 20s and younger. So It may be you got bad genes. Also the fact all the men in my family go bald. It is probably not you. Check your family history. If is it common that might be why.
