Is it normal to be black and nerdy?

I've been that black and nerdy kid in school. A lot of people (mostly the black kids) ask me for answers in school and ask me to solve problems. Its probably the only reason i'm not an outcast like the other nerds. White girls go crazy for me.

I'm not into the really nerdy stuff like star trek, star wars, etc. I'm more into playing Madden and other sports games. I also have a slight addiction to chess.

I get hated on the white kids( only when i'm alone and no black people are around me) Its like they can't handle a black guy who is smarter then them.

Some people say i'm going to become the next Obama one day.

Wait.. This. Is this some troll post?..

Why would it not be normal to be both black and nerdy?.. There are lots of other black and nerdy people, some even smarter than you out there. (No offense) but it's the truth.

Screw the idiots who try to ruin the day of yours, they are obviously not worth the time and energy.

You seem like a normal decent guy.. And i'm sure you are smart too, but use your brain to understand that nomatter which skin colour (White, Yellow, Brown, Black) simply greet the haters with a smile every darn time you see them.

      Nonstandard and Archaic.

This post is not a dwarf or giant in Scandinavian folklore inhabiting caves or hills.

Please do not describe or refer to 'people' by any pigmentation or shade of skin, which does not exist in nature. Some 'people' are various shades of brown, the rest of your descriptors do not exist.

Please do not use the euphemized word form, pertaining to a fictitious nether world.

      Thank you.

No colour exists in nature. It is simply what kinds of light is reflected.

          Incorrect.

Light is not necessarily 'reflected', in nature. Light is produced at a source, and is absorbed at a sink, possibly being reflected or refracted.

Humans and other creatures have a biological adaptation (eyes), which are sensitive to a particular band of wavelengths of electromagnetic radiation, which they perceive as colour, but this can be modified due to the Doppler Effect.

In nature, it could be said, that technically, all wavelenghths of electromagnetic radiation are colours. Electromagnetic radiation is composed of particles (photons), and these particles are colours, based on their respective behaviour (relative energy).

Obama is not that great a man, but that's a funny thing to say. But what your really asking is it normal to be yourself? Your black, and your smart. I'm white, and I'm pretty smart. Nothing out of the ordinary here!

They are not "black", except on some of the inside, but so is everyone else.
You are not "white". Please place your hand on a 'white' sheet of paper. Is your hand close to the same shade, as the sheet of paper?

I will guess that you are actually closer to somewhere between a light pinkish-tan to tan.

And imma give the benifit of the doubt, but this seems a bit narssasistic in the way u wrote it. But my advice is something I learn thru life is labels are garbage, restrictions that allow people to pre-judge and stereotype. I strive to be contrary to labels and be my own man. Maybe try to do the same

    • suckonthis9

      Nonstandard.

"imma" is not a word, nor is it close to any discernable word in the English language.

'Benefit'. Please note the proper spelling.

Please do not use -ists or -isms.
'narcissus'. Please note the proper spelling.

Please do not use textese, where it does not belong.

      Thank you.

I would not take any advice, from a person who is unable, or unwilling to try to express themselves in a more or less, proper fashion.

If your wish is to become someone important in the future, then you should discontinue describing yourself and / or others as "black" or "white".
Simply describe people as 'people', or by their respective 'tribal identity'.

Young people are not "kids". 'Kids', are young goats.
Please use 'child' or 'adolescent' or 'young person', instead.

Titles of television programs, movies and literature are usually capitalized. e.g. Star Trek, Star Wars.
Also, when citing these in text, these should be enclosed in double quotation marks. e.g. I watched "Star Trek" yesterday. I played "Madden", and other games.

Star Trek is great. And Star Wars is too mainstream to be "nerdy". Checkers on the other hand is an entirely different story.

The most nerdy and cool guys I've ever met were black. And they were really nerdy, like, interested in anime, pop culture, Trekkers/Whovians/Star Wars fans, Magic players, Linux users, hard gamers etc. What's the matter with being black and nerdy? Why should the nerds be Asian or lily-white skinny boys? That's just a stupid stereotype. Be yourself, man.

I think its normal considering I am in a situation almost equal to yours, except the fact that Im queit into a few nerdy stuff and there were no white guys at my school (Im new at a school with white guys the reason I use past tense) but, dont worry its somehow awesome instead of not normal.

Hey Bro, there's nothing wrong with you. It's not your fault other people aren't as smart as you are. Sorry to hear about the jealous white kids in your school. In the end you'll probably make more money than the majority of people who think you're a nerd. Karma is a good thing.

If it's any consolation you'll probably be happier and fit in better in college.

Of course it's normal to be black and nerdy (nerdism doesn't discriminate). Just look at Steve Urkel (that reference might be before your time if you're still in school) or Booker T. Washington (definitely before your time, but at least they teach about him in school). White girls in general dig geeks of any ethnicity (girls usually say I look like Michael Cera right before they jump my bones). Here's a hint: use your intelligence to your advantage... In high school there was a "super" senior named Miguel that was in most of my classes. I'd do his homework for him in exchange for a dub sack of premium cannabis every weekday. I gained other perks as well, such as rides to and from school, hooked up with some fine mamacita's, access to many epic parties. P.S. The game of chess, is like a swordfight- you must think first, before you move (Wu-Tang Clan reference). P.S.S. Don't aim to become the next Obama- aim to become the next guy who controls Obama from behind the scenes. Stay up and stay thirsty my friend!

It isn't normal for anyone to be a "nerd". Nerds
aren't well-balanced people by definition. They are
overly ambitious people who are greedy for knowledge
while ignoring and ridiculing other essential aspects
    of life.
