I picked up this book and I'm on page 80-ish and it's confusing as hell.
I need to do a project on it and pick out quotes so Sparknotes really won't help with that.
sdfhyfksdfhsdk ergh.
Does anyone else think that it was a difficult book to understand?
Dude i got it for a summer reading project got to page 14 i think where there talking about the baby cloning from one mom boring me the fuck out who writes this boring ass shit. I like the client good book need to finish it. and dean koontz odd thomas great gatsby strangely liked it couldnt stand the crucible complete disaster I took ap engilsh 3
oh, and another thing... lots of ppl who have to read this for school complain that it's boring. well, you have to appreciate how well it's written. I mean like seriously. Some of you are just like ''ughhh i hate this because it's not about vampires and love'' or somethin. I like the book because it's a brilliant and unique story... it was written so long ago and still enjoyed today. i don't want to sound rude but you really have to take time and appreciate the finer things in life like these classic stories... i can't tell you to like them but you should really try. I always hated reading until I started reading classics like this . it's not the greatest but still.
I think most people who comment on how boring that book is to them, hated it because they had to read it for school and then write about it. - They had no choice in that matter.
Being forced to read a book can make you biased against it before oyu even start reading it.
I like to read a lot and have read "Brave new World" and other dystopian books because I wanted to. (My favourite being Fahrenheit 451, btw.)- But I remeber that when I still was at school and had to read books just because the teacher thought they where important or interesting I quite often did not manage to get as interested in them as I got in the books I read because I chose to read them.
hahahaha yeah, go on wikipedia and read the summary on it. it breaks it down a lot easier and to be honest it helped me not have to read it.
Yes it is difficult to understand unless you are on 3 hits of blotter acid.
Take some LSD, then read it... perfect sense!
It is a really good book, but a difficult read as well. Try reading the most confusing parts over agin untill u understand them
