Is it normal to be non-religious but curious about religion

I may come across as a bit weird, but if I had to be any religion, even though I don't even believe in god, I would pick Buddhism. Probably because it seems the least tiring and most mind strengthening religon.

I'm would be spiritual but I have a strong dislike of "organized religion. I don't need someone else's interpretation of religion and the world, just my own.

I believe religion is and can be very beautiful, but the idea of organized religion is ruined for me by people ulterior motive that seem to twisted religion to their own motives.

Consequently I feel the Most people that adamently disown religion and promote athesim. Honestly more dislike organized religion like me, but the concept of spiritualism and making their "own" religion hasn't yet dawned on them.

This was funny, especially the parts about the wiccan and the scientologist. Also the part about take-out food to decipher religion, it remarkably seems legit to me.

Seeing the world through other peoples eyes inspires compassion and understanding. Religion is a fantastic tool for doing so.

Same here. I'm an atheist but I find Buddhism interesting and much less dogmatic than some other faiths. Of course all of them are interesting to study, and you can learn a lot without actually being of any given religion. Consider it something like a study of humanity.

I'm a catholic but i live by the taoist/budhist philosophy, i study it and i find it fascinating, but i keep strong to my catholic beliefs (same would go for atheism i guess but if you think that way i think you are an agnostic)

Knowledge is knowledge it does not matter what its about. Like studying psychology of a serial killer does not mean you are one. It just means you are curious about how they think. Cops study how criminals act in order to catch them. Studying something does not mean you have to be a part of it. So yes it is normal to be interested about religion even if you are not part of one. You just have a very curious mind. Also no I am not saying Christians are killers. Just that was the only other thing I could think of to compare to this type of situation. Please no one jump on me.

I am not religious but have a library of religious and spiritual texts. They have some beautiful things to offer.

Buddhism is not really a religion, more of a philosophy. It doesn't deal with the creation of universe and such, just promotes good values.

From the revealed religions, there are three: Judaism, Christianity and Islam. So in reality you really have two choice, since you can't become Jewish unless you have Jewish ancestry.

I suggest give Islam a try. Start from the Quran, a book of science and signs.

True Buddhism is more of a philosophy, but meh... All three of the major religions have their quirks (trust me I know, I studied in Theology for I don't even know how long), well seems like it's time to look into minor religions. Like the other 2000 religions that cover this world. Sheesh... so much studying, some advice for the post maker, be curious about a diverse number of religions and study them, but do not subjugate yourself to one religion to you know what religion you truly want to be in.
