Is it normal to be obsessed with central asian studies

I've been obsessed with the history of central Asia and its adjoining regions for a year now. Most people do not know a thing about Asian history, instead they prefer to know about the European histories (so boring!!!). People do not realize that there is so much more interesting histories other than feudalism, Napolean, Hitler, and the British Empire. Also, Central Asia actually plays a significant role in world history.
