Is it normal to be obsessed with nudity?

I spend a couple of hours a day looking at pictures of naked people, legal age guys and girls.

The beaches are clothing optional and you can always tell the westerners. It's like they've never seen a naked person in their life. They always want to take pictures. I think you're up bringing has a lot to do with your view on nudity. Fat, skinny, young, old, I don't have a problem with it in acceptable places. I'm not sure if I would want to go to work where everyone walked around nude, unless I was a stripper, although my body would enjoy the freedom of no clothes and my wardrobe would be much less expensive.

I’ve never understood why our country has sexualized nudity to the extent that it has. It probably all stems from the prudes back in the 1900’s. It’s the reason that they circumcise boys. Kellogg (the inventor of corn flakes) was so against masturbation, that he started this huge campaign to end masturbation by circumcising infants so that their penises would become desensitized and would no longer be tempted to masturbate. Well, it didn’t work and now, the only reason they still circumcise is because “they should look like their dad’s” and then theres just the spread of misinformation about increased health risks when you’re uncircumcised. It’s pathetic really. There needs to be more nudist colonies and beaches here in the states for people who wish to live free and natural. Live as God made us. I agree that going to work nude might be uncomfortable. Could you imagine accidentally spilling hot coffee on your bare lap? OUCH!

When I was younger and we were out on the farm, all of us kids ran naked. Ages 2yo - 10yo and there was no one to tell us there was supposed to be something sexual about it so, of course, there was never an issue with it. It’s how my sister and I were both potty trained. It’s easy to potty train when you can literally just wiz wherever you want, or stop and squat to poop out in the woods while we were playing. We had over 80 acres to play in and the only rule we had, was be back before the sun went down. We were taught how to tell time with our hands and the sun so when there was only four fingers from the bottom of the sun and the horizon, it was time to head back up to the house. Those were truly magical times. Now you’ve got those same types of prudes trying to tell us what’s best for everybody; that their views are the best views and everyone must follow them. So much for “The Land of The Free”

I had almost the same childhood. We would just play and our parents would call us when it was time to have lunch and when it began to get dark we knew it was time to go home.

We would swim naked in the river and eat whatever we could pick in the woods. However I would not let my child have this much freedom with all those creepy people everywhere who want to sleep with children.

        Things have changed a lot.

Sadly, it has been shown that this is untrue. There were the same amount of sick perverts when we were kids as there are now. The only difference is that kids are now more educated and open to report it, and media more frequently covers it. But statistics do show that nothing has changed. So I would most definitely give my kids the same amount of freedom. Plus, we lived in the country. There wasn’t anybody out there but us. Now, with that being said, I live in a rural area now, but even if I lived in a large city, it would be the same. I have boundaries on how far my children can venture, without my permission. They know when to be home and know when to spot danger. I feel I’m raising them to be more independent and showing them that they need to learn to fend for themselves, to an extent. I’ll always be papa lion and murder anyone who tries to harm them. They also know they can come to me WITH ANYTHING. They can speak to me openly, without fear of judgement or persecution. But overall I think they will grow up better because of it. I think that’s what’s wrong with this current generation. They were sheltered and placed in a bubble and handed everything. So that’s what they expect. They feel that if they don’t like something, well then it’s their way or no way. That they have the right to force everyone to live as they do. It’s sad really.

But I digress. Honestly, do some research and it will show you that while the number of reported cases and convictions of crimes against children have increased over the past few decades, experts say that the actual amount of danger our children face hasn’t changed. One expert said that we actually put our children in more danger by sheltering them. Besides, your child is more likely to be molested by a close friend or relative than a complete stranger. Think about that. It’s scary.

I have to admit that you are right on so many points. And yes, more often people who you are close to are the ones who commit those acts. I have witnessed some cases.

The beaches aren't clothing optional where I am, and I prefer it that way.

Western art has a long tradition of romanticizing nudity. Maybe what you feel is related somehow

I'm not as disgusted with nudity as some people would think, but as far as I'm concerned whether, or not I'm disgusted with nudity depends on who is nude, and in what context. I don't think it should be legal for random people to be nude in public.

"whether, or not I'm disgusted with nudity depends on who is nude"

        Everyone (but me).

        "and in what context."

        All of them.

"I don't think it should be legal for random people to be nude in public."

        Me either.

        Tell me...

What do you mean when you say, “Depends on who is nude” and “in what context”? Exactly what does that mean?

Is it okay for a woman to be nude, but not a woman?
Is it okay for a white woman to be nude but not a black?
Is it okay for a white man to be nude as long as he doesn’t have an erection or in the act of coitus?

What exactly do you mean? Do explain....

If I didn't consent to seeing a person like that then I don't care to see them that way. If people want to live like that they can do it in a so called nudist beach, or nudist colony, but no out in the open around people who did not consent to seeing it.

I do not consent to seeing your hair, does that mean I have the right to make you cover it?

Don't know why, don't care to know why since knowing why wouldn't change my mind. It feels wrong (unless it's myself) & i'm not going to question it.

My experience is that most people who have a problem with nudity can't separate it from sexual feelings, desires, or acts. Those that want it only on their terms or a certain selection of people. I suggest, Go to some nude beaches or places that are clothing optional and spend some time there. It's not about sex matter of fact you'll normally be asked to leave it you start any sexual activity. Not talking guys getting erection that can happen but I just about guarantee it's not as often as you may think. It's just not about sex it's more about freedom, the sun, and being one with nature.

Nudity is our natural form. There’s nothing wrong with looking at nude photos.

Now if you’re referring to pornography; there’s nothing wrong with looking at that neither. Just as long as you don’t become addicted to doing so (yes, you can become addicted to porn). In order to be addicted to porn, it would have to affect your daily life. But as long as that doesn’t become an issue, then no, there’s nothing wrong with it at all.

I’m retired, so I don’t have much else to do. My wife nags about it, which is why I brought it up.i
