Is it normal to be obsessive in drawing?

If there is a portion of a drawing I don't like I have a habit of drawing it over again. However, this has been going on for quite some time to the point where it has become obsessive. I think there's something wrong with this. Even if my drawing looks really good I start to analyze it as if I'm looking for anything that could be improved upon. Is this normal? Or is this a sign that it's not perfect? I'm my own worst critic. I want it to be PERFECT!

Totally normal but if you can get it to look like how you envisioned it in your head let me know

This is not uncommon for artists, especially the more perfectionistic ones. I used to obsess quite a lot about getting a piece just right. Very frustrating when I couldn't get it completely right in my chosen media. I'd criticise myself if I couldn't get the accurately portray my vision. I'm getting worked up just thinking about it. :/

That's okay. It's pretty normal with me, actually. Happens to me a lot! But mostly when I'm towards the end of it.

Well, sometimes, we want our drawings to look... PEEERRRFFFEEECCCT! So, we do them over. It's also kinda like learning from your mistakes. The previous tries are the mistakes. Therefore, when you do it again, you know what to avoid!

Um... I draw manga, so it's easier than realistic (in my opinion)... BUT! Don't look at the pictures on my profile, please! Those are digitally drawn and horrible! I can do better IRL... So... yeah...

Keep up da work! *thumbs up*

That can be a good quality to have as an artist. Just don't let it get too out of hand. Being critical about it is one of the main ways you improve.

I have to tell myself to relax sometimes, if I think about it too much I won't even start drawing the first lines. Anyway, not really normal, but it's one of the main qualities most great artists have.
