Is it normal to be obssesed with cats..... i mean i have 12 cats...

We started out with four cats , not to much. Then we discovered there's a cat outside of our house. She had 2 kittens. After awhile we took them in. A blackout happened then they did 'the thing' they had 5 kittens 12 kittens.... Amazing right?

I think the population explosion had little to do with your power outage. Unlike some humans, cats don't care if the light is on when they "make sweet music" with each other.

Like others have said - you need to get them to a vet ASAP, before your 12 cats become 30. Alternately, investigate no-kill shelters near you - explain your situation and see if they can assist you with the cost of neutering/spaying your animals.

It wasn't the black out that made them "make sweet music" it was because we didn't check on them.....

They don't take long! The entire job can be done by a tomcat in seconds - unless you have your female cats segregated from the males, you're going to have kittens.

You need to get your animals fixed for their own health.

Let them breed. Then make some nice fur clothing. There are many ways to skin a cat

You are SO lucky! You have so many furry and cute meowing animals! What could be better? It must be hard taking care of them all and remembering their names, but it's normal. Remember, you're very lucky! But about that blackout part? You should get help! It's not very normal to have so many births after blacking out, or just blacking out at all. Call the vet, I wish you luck! :c

the names WAS easy because the newest kittens are all identical ( 1 has a black pelt ) and were giving some away... we cant take care of 12 cats....

as long as you can care for them properly, that's fine. you can spay/neuter them if you don't want anymore kittens, though tbh i wouldn't really bother with it, it's only there for lazy owners who can't bother to put up with the natural instincts of the animal and look for a selfish way out.

Having cats (and dogs too for that matter) speyed or neutered is being a responsible owner, not a lazy or selfish one: why allow the creation of more and more unwanted animals?

well then you can add hypocrite to the list of pet owners that fix their pets too then. Humans out here reaching 8 billion and we're more worried on if Fluffy is pregnant or not lmao.

Like I get if your pet needs to be fixed for health reasons, but fixing them just because you're worried on how many dogs/cats/whatever are living in the world right now is pretty stupid tbh. I see more reason on fixing cats though, especially if their outdoor cats since you have no control of where they go, but fixing a dog is stupid like you thinking you take out your dog for a walk and another dog is gonna run over and fuck em then bang pregnant? lol no.

as long as you always supervise your dog when there are other dogs around, which a responsible owner should do, you wont have a problem. if you own two dogs of the opposite gender either put them in separate rooms/cages when you're going out or just have all female/male dogs.

I've been raised with dogs my entire life and the only time one of my dogs ever got pregnant is because we planned for it to happen. (which she then had 5 beautiful puppies who all went to good homes.)

if people worry for the dog/cat population, shouldn't we also worry more on the human population and start spaying/neutering babies because our population is triple to dogs/cats?

i ain't trying to start a fight, i actually really like you Ellenna and you're pretty cool so I hope this doesn't come across like I'm attacking you or anything, these are just my thoughts. Like if you yourself advocate to fixing dogs/cats that's cool man, it's just that if I have another dog/cat in my care I'll most likely not spay/neuter him/her unless it's a health concern.
