Is it normal to be protective of your home?

Well I live in a nice neighborhood. But my friend told me that someone tried to break into his place and he lives only a few min away from me! I have my own self protection such as a baseball bat, a board with a nail through it and an AK -47 airsoft gun which I think would scare someone from far away. Am I too protective or just paranoid?

A dog is good protection and can be a great new best friend!

It you're worried about someone breaking in then check you have security locks on doors and windows, and a bolt on your bedroom door, to keep you safe. I wouldn't like someone coming in on me - though my dog would bark but I wouldn't worry if they were just robbing the house.

They say you should shout "FIRE!" out the bedroom window as neighbours ignore "HELP!"

I have never felt the need for that much protection. What are you so afraid of?

A actual gun would work. my dad keeps a glock 45 loaded in his night stand just in case anyone is feeling stupid. Not to mention I have a 12 ga shotgun loaded with 3 shells of home defense shells thats just in case someone in crappy lighting where I cant tell exactly where they are. We all work to hard for nice stuff just to have some low life take it.
