Is it normal to be really out of touch with current trends?
I am so out of touch with current trends that I feel like a huge loser who doesn't belong in this generation.
There are many video games I've never, ever played: GTA, Halo, Call Of Duty, Portal, Minecraft, Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, etc.
I've never watched a single episode of Breaking Bad, Downton Abbey, Game Of Thrones, The Walking Dead, Adventure Time, The Regular Show, Naruto or The Big Bang Theory, and I've only seen short clips of Family Guy and South Park on YouTube, and only one episode of Doctor Who in full. I absolutely detest Glee and MLP.
Illegal drugs are also extremely common in this generation. But I've never tried a single one. I've tried alcohol but I've never got drunk, because I don't go out drinking, clubbing or partying and I don't attend raves. I've also never had sex (at age 20) and I don't plan on doing so just yet.
I have a Facebook page but I'm not on it much. And, I hardly ever use my Twitter account, or read tweets. I don't blog or make YouTube videos (though I watch do them). I've never been on Reddit, Pinterest, 4chan, Instagram. I don't really care for Internet culture in general.
I hate memes, trendy sayings, nerd fanbases and over-nostalgic 90s kids. I don't care about celebrities, and unlike most people in this generation, I absolutely detest sexist, racist and anti-LGBT humour, or any kind of black comedy, because it's always so predictable and crass, and the jokes are always the same.
Is it normal to be this much of a square? Or am I just a massive, pathetic loser who can't relate to anyone? I feel like one of only a handful of people on the entire planet who is like this.
