Is it normal to be scared of any ball larger then a tennis ball?

I hate sport, so when I was is school I got hit by balls a lot. I am now irrationally afraid of any balls larger then tennis balls. Help.

You are completely normal. Still have the ducking reflex when a ball is thrown and I lost track of it.

Generally a skippy ball is less dangerous than a tennisball. I'd be more afraid of a random tennisball heading towards me than a basketball or smth

a well hit golf ball would do way more damage than a thrown basketball

I've never liked balls being thrown at me, and didn't end up playing softball because of it, despite being able to hit a ball with a bat well. I didn't like having to catch the ball with my hands. I played basketball for a year (just so my very small school could have their team, as they needed an additional person) and the only thing I did well was defense. 🤣

I remember playing dodgeball in middle school and id like to dodge the ball like the matrix because the movie just came out. And I did the back bend really fast and slipped and hit the back of my head so hard on the gym floor. Everytime I hear the word dodgeball I remember jt.

Kind of sad. You need desensitization training.

Start with balls you can barely tolerate and get used to them. Then work up to bigger ones until your phobia is under control.
