Is it normal to be scared of heart attacks?

This is my deepest fear. If i think about having a heart problem, it almost throws me into spasms. My heart beats fast if i think about having a heart attack, and it scares me even more. IIN?

Sounds like you have a panic and anxiety disorder. Not normal, please see a professional.

You have anxiety I have it too, just relax and drink hot soothing drinks, breathe and stop being afraid

Put some of that energy into getting nice and healthy--changing your lifestyle will be much more beneficial for your heart than all that stressing out:D

My brother's like this. As a kid he liked to sneak up and frighten me so now that we're a bit older it's pretty poetic that every time I scare him, I have a chance of killing him (at least in his own mind, I do).

I too have this its like an obsession you focus on every heart beat and think its too fast and IM gonna have a heart attack at any second IM only 23 and just a oil bit over weight but to us this is serious its a real fear. This is what i do take two aspirins and knowing that adoring is thinning the.blood and making a heart attack less likely gives me peace of mind, try keeping busy on other things than focusing on your each and every heartbeat. Mine kind of faded away but sometimes still get the fear now and again

I know how you feel man, It is really scary to worry about this. So DON'T. You should LIVE, and enjoy. I know it's really hard, I have the same damn thing, but I mostly try to drink hot tea or chocolate milk or just try to think about sex. I know that's an odd thought. But at least it's a positive boost of adrenalin instead of anxiety. Or get a big laughter, watch some ''Try not to laugh'' vids on youtube. Or just dance your socks off in your bedroom or get a lot of nice cookies to eat or fries.

Try this and you'll feel better, okay?
