Is it normal to be scared of stepping on toads/frogs?

Every morning I must walk through my back yard to take a short cut and it's always dark outside... I have this over whelming fear that I might step on a frog or toad... My chest literally tightens and I walk so steadily in fear I might step on one ... I'm in Florida with a lake in my back yard so the frogs and toads are lerking near me ... I use a flash light to watch out for them but I would love to just get over this fear.. Also everything about them just gives me the hebiddy bejeebiddies.. Is this normal to be scared of toads/frogs and stepping on them?
Also are there any *tips on how to not be scared of them??
– Thanks :)

  • I wouldn't be afraid of them, but I wouldn't want to step on them simply because I don't like hurting animals and I do especially like frogs.

Frogs are attracted to lights too so light wont make them go away but a temporary flash light to see where you are going might be the best way to go.

Well they are harmless. I would feel terrible for stepping on one but if you have no way of getting around then what can you do?

    My advice?

The most humane, but costly choice would be to make a stone path, that way you don't really need to look too hard.

I'd be worried too. A friend stepped on a toad and goo oozed out all over her foot and ankle. She didn't think too much about it, but a few days later warts began growing everywhere the goo had touched her. Her warts ooze goo and wherever it touches, more of these "super warts" appear and after three years, she's pretty much got them everywhere below her chest. Nothing the doctors try seems to work to remove these warts.
