Is it normal to be scared of what's under my bed?

I have this weird fear of open spaces beneath furniture. I'm afraid of underneath the bed, and the gap between the couch and the floor. If it's, like, wide and you can see underneath it well, it's okay, but if you cannot see what is underneath it while standing up, it totally freaks me out. I'm also scared of the gap between the bed and the wall. Is it normal?

Dont worry, it's just the bloodthirsty demons hiding down there. Honestly, what do you think is gonna be under there? XD it makes sense as a little kid, but I'm soo sick of reading all these stupid posts of people being scared of under the bed of scared of the saw guy or Michael myers or whatever.... Grow up people! There are plenty of real things to worry about, why stress out over your own imagination? You're needlessly taking years off your life

I agree with you. Actually, I don't think there's anything under there at all. I mean, when I think through it logically, I see nothing to be afraid of. Yet, when actually by a bed or something of that nature, I just freak out; I almost can't help it.

    HA! screamers... lmao

It's a somewhat rare but documented phobia. can't remember what it's called tho. A few buildings on my college campus were designed by a guy who was afraid of open spaces. No joke. They are the most awkward and confusing buildings to get around in. It's almost like a massive peice of conceptual art or something.

So your case isn't one of the extremes and I would think that, as long as you know monsters aren't real, it should be somewhat manageable. Then again, I have no idea what it truly feels like. I do sympathize. Just can't empathize. Sorry.

Don't let it freak you out too much. Though I used to be scared of standing near my bed when it was dark, because I could imagine a hand coming out from underneath, grabbing me by the ankles and pulling me under the bed! I guess you will eventually grow out of it.
