Is it normal to be terrified of spiders but also really interested?

I am absolutely terrified of spiders and touching spider webs, no matter how small or huge they may be. Despite this fear, I'm perfectly fine with spiders so long as they aren't actually in the room with me. I've had a fascination with them for ages and I've always loved (but been frightened by) spiders in horror films and games. I'm just so curious as to why they scare me. Any thoughts?

Spiders are beautiful, I love them! There are a lot of black widows in Las Vegas, but they're so docile. I've really grown to love and respect black widows!

Tarantulas are kind of nice too.

Yes. Cats and Tarantulas are both predators. If you had a terrarium with a glass top, your cat would probably leave the spider alone. Your new boyfriend might enjoy him too.

If I visited someone with a Tarantula, I would feel excited by the touch of creepiness that the cute little guy contributed to house. Poor spiders are misunderstood anyway. They are clean and they eat bugs. We should all be thankful for that.

I'm the same way! I don't like them being too close to me but I think they're neat if there's a glass between us, or if it's just a picture. I think it's sort of an appreciation?

I just found a spider in my hair. Luckily it was like 3mm long.

I used to be too terrified to look at a photo of a spider, or touch the page of the book it was in. I couldn't even touch the other side of the page because it was too spidery.

I suppose it's normal to be fascinated by something you're scared of.

You'd know more about those than I would, tgs.

Didn't take you long, eh? You're so predictable.
