Is it normal to be too much of a perfectionist when it comes to art?

So I've drawn this tropical waterfall scene 3 times and I'm still unhappy with the way it came out. One of the trees is not how it looks like in the original picture so I have to start over. Also when I was drawing not all of the elements of the picture fit on the picture twice so I have to start over because of this as well. Is this normal?

Art is always original. You shouldn't stress so much about making it "perfect".

    I think it's normal.

Sometimes the best art is made when you don't over think it. For me it helps to de-focus a little when drawing. Try to visualize a scene and roughly sketch it first.

Take a step back continually from your work when you're not on a roll. It's good to be a perfectionist, you'll never be truly happy with your work but you'll push yourself.

I think we all go through this. I know I'm never satisfied with any of my artworks or writing. I was reading on creative minded people and it said that they are never really satisfied with there work. It can be a good thing because it's a way of self criticism but a bad thing because, of course, you're never satisfied.

Don't stress over it too much. Set it down for a little while then come back to it later and see how you feel about it then.

Was Picasso that picky? What if its imperfection is perfection? What if that imperfect creation becomes a priceless work of art? It could happen.

I'm like this about every single piece of art I do. I do it almost over 10 times before I think I've got it down and even then I usually don't feel like it's right. I don't think that there's an end to how far improvement can go.

I think it's normal. I do abstract art and i can usually turn my mess ups into part of the art so I don't particularly do what you do, but I know that it's common.

There's no such thing as being too much of a perfectionist when it comes to one's artwork. There's always room for improvement. But unfortunately, there's also no such thing as a completely perfect work of art, so at some point you have to stand back and say "this is good enough".
