Is it normal to be uncomfortable in closed places?

It's not something that interferes in my daily life, just wondering whether it's normal. And it's NOT claustrophobia! I googled it, and i don't experience any of the symptoms. Like, when I was in kindergarten I always hated the fence around it, it would make me uncomfortable, one time I even ran away and my parents were gonna call the cops. Also, I've been hospitalized a lot, and the fact that the visiting hours are so short made me have panic attacks at night, the fact that I wasn't allowed outside. Of course, I snuck out again. I know some people chalk it up to a general dislike of hospitals, and i did too, until i realized it might be something else. HELP

  • Maybe it's that you want to be allowed to do something. I have the problem where I really want to do something, and if someone stops me, it makes me unnervingly upset. It may even be a silly reason, or no real reason at all. Like, that fence bothers you, and even if you don't even know why, it still does. Perhaps it's a form of OCD. You just have to settle down and resist it. But I do suggest googling OCD.
