Is it normal to be upset at getting an a?
If I get an A in an exam I am somewhat disappointed. I think that anything below an A* is not good enough. Is this normal or am I under too much pressure?

Parents should put their kids to higher standards. They only get angry when you get a D or an F. I got B's and C's when sleeping during classes, haha.
No one's perfect. +'s don't make much of a difference. There's nothing wrong with wanting to improve but it shouldn't stress you out. It's more important that you remember what you learn.
A's are a joke, school is so easy now that you can get that just for turning up!
Don't pressure yourself. A "A" is good regardless if it's a +. Even a "B" can be a good thing. No ones perfect. I usually get a mixture of "A"'s and "B"'s. It's not the end of the world, don't stress yourself out over this.
I feel this way too. It's horrible. I think for a lot of people, they have struggles in their life and by doing perfect in school, it makes them feel like they are good enough. But trust me, you can get 100% on a test and afterwards feel just as crappy as if you got 85. You just have to accept that you are NOT perfect. I'm sure You are smart and a great person but don't think you need to be perfect.
Grades nowadays are on a low bar. No one should be able to get an A outside of the truly exceptional. Your work probably deserves a B or B- if you're getting an A. That's just my experience. I got 4.0's on all sorts of stuff that probably didn't deserve it.
I look at it like this: you should always learn something and improve on something in an assignment. Getting an A should mean that you did everything perfectly and there's very little room for further improvement.
Your putting way too much pressure on yourself! You should be very proud to get an A or even a B
