Is it normal to believe there's more out there?

I believe that we can't possibly be the only place in this universe with life on it, it might not be in this solar system, but the universe is SO vast, no one even knows if it ends. So don't you think it's a little for a lack of a better word ignorant to think we are the only beings in this unvierse? Am I normal to believe there's more out there then just humans?

I hope we are not but I haven't seen any proof of intelligent life out there yet. Hell I wish I could find some intelligent life on Earth.

we already got drones that can travel 20% of light speed in space with A.I. That's pretty good progress.

Don't vote for Obama so we can continue our space program.

Sadly, the phones are much easier to make smarter.

yep, and your second sentence shows spot on why any intelligent life out there would have no serious motivation to show us any proof of their existance.

I wouldn't mount an expedition into the overseas jungle to show a monkey that i exist and am superior to him in many aspects. -_-

I think there is too. I mean, is a never ending Universe, there has got to be SOMETHING out there somewhere. I like to think that, maybe, billions of light years away from here, there is another version of ourselves, and maybe mirrors like that all over the Universe. But, who knows. I'm sure there's some other form of life out there other than us.

The real problem is they are likely millions of light years away, and that's why we don't see them visiting us.

Imagine if you were an intelligent life form and today you viewed Earth from millions of light years ago.
You'd see big huge dumb animals, and plant life. These aliens may be searching for something more intelligent than that.

Plus we have only been properly searching the stars through telescopes for only a few hundred years, even Hubble itself was made in 1990. Seriously in 22 years you are not going to see that much. Plus we are ALSO viewing planets and universes that are thousands and millions of years ago. Who knows what these planets are like now, or if some even exist still.

Its up to you 'kids' to discover better and faster (than even the speed of light) instruments to search the expanding universe. Or some other way no ones thought of yet.

Science is the only answer to continue and broaden our knowledge of the universe. Space travel is of the utmost importance else we will surely all die.

I started off believing it was very unlikely for there to be life elsewhere, and almost certainly not intelligent life. The more I learn about exobiology, the more likely I find it that the Universe is teeming with life. The downside of that is that I no longer see "life" as very special. It's as common as a rock and as prosaic as a biochemical equation.

  • It's certain that there is more life out there, if the universe is infinite than life must also be.

Of course it's normal to believe there's life beyond that. I agree with you.

I find it impossible to believe that God created such an enormous universe with endless galaxies and planets to have life on just one planet. I've always thought that there has to be more out there..

      ^ This.

But what if he only made life on one planet in each galaxy because he didn't want separate civilisations interfering with each other...

It's foolish and self centred of Humans to ever think we r the only ones. There has to be something else. It's logical. Plus, all these retired astronauts are now admitting that they have indeed seen aliens on the moon and pilots have seen them in the skies. The gov is selfish and told them to cover it up to harness there technology. YouTube these astronauts saying this! How can u possibly deny, they went to the moon after all, they have seen things we haven't on earth
