Is it normal to bleed so much like that?

[English is not my language so don't judge me if I spelled something wrong]
So basically I started use tampons last month, and everything was well, but i the last Wednesday, when my period was in the second day, I put a tampon before go to the school at 6am and I put an pad in my panties to use after took off the tampon in recess time at 10am.
But when I went to the bathroom to take my tampon off on recess
and I sat on the toilet, I saw a drop of blood on my pad and felt a lot of blood coming out of me, even with the tampon
inside me. I think it took me ten minutes in the bathroom cleaning the blood, and when I got up, I put on my panties quickly so the blood wouldn't run down my legs.
A few hours later I came home, and after taking a shower I put another tampon, with a pad on my panties, because I was afraid of the blood leaking again, but it didn't happen, my flow was not so intense anymore.
I want to know if bleed so much like this is normal, because I see on internet that has no danger of the blood leaking as long as you use the tampon for up to 4 hours.

It's pretty normal, especially in the first couple of days of your period when the flow is heavy. Change the tampon more often and keep using the pad to prevent any leakage.

Totally normal. You could get through twice as many tampons in that time and it would still be normal.

    Yeah, periods fucking suck.

I often use 10 pads in 2 days or more, because often I need to wear two at once. I bleed a lot the first 2 or even 3 days or my period and I also have unimaginable pain the first day. Can't do anything but lay in bed and squirm in tears.
Periods suck. You can of course get on birthcontrol pills to stop your periods.

I tried to do that but my gynecologist said I can't because I'm prone to thrombosis :(
