Is it normal to breathe in one direction only doing freestyle?

I think its simple enough- But I tend to only turn right or face down lately. I'm very relaxed like this and my rhythm is good. But I'd like to know if this effects my stroke. Am I in danger of developing one strong arm?

This is totally normal. I've been swimming competitively for almost 12 years now and I've been breathing on the same side ever since I could remember. Many of my swim mates and competitors would do the same. Even Olympic swimmers would breath on the same side. So yeah perfectly normal.

Several swimmers breathe only in one direction. However, for some reason, ever since swim team days, I've been breathing every odd number of strokes, generally every 3 or 5, sometimes I'll stretch to 7. Honestly, I can't remember why I changed from just one-sided breathing to tell you. :/

I have no idea but I only breathe to my left when I swim freestyle. Otherwise I get a lot of water in my ear.

I get a mouthful of chlorine when I breathe on the left side. I swim quite often so I'm afraid that my muscles will develop different on the one side. I guess if one other person does it, it isn't completely nuts.
