Is it normal to bring a cat with you on a business trip?

I recently learned that the hotel I will be staying in on an upcoming business trip allows pets. Is it normal that I seriously considered paying the pet supplement out-of-pocket and bringing my Himalayan cat with me? I'll be gone for four days, and I usually work alone in my room for up to eight hours a day on these trips-- I just think it would be nice to have someone from home waiting for me in my room to keep me company during the long hours alone. I won't do it, as the cost of flying her out would just be too high, but if it were a smaller expense, I totally would. My husband, who will be caring for her and our other pets while I am gone, thinks it is just plain weird that I even considered it. Is this normal, or is he right?

It's normal, I would love for my cat to come everywhere with me (She is a rescue cat, was abused, so she doesn't go outside as she is too frightened!) but you have to think about her and how much stress it would bring on her. Even the most chilled cats hate travelling, so it may be a bit selfish as I don't think she'd get much enjoyment.

Normal. I never leave the safety of my shack without a Molotov cocktail in each pocket.

I think it's an awesome idea if you're single and sure the travel won't stress the cat out. But since you're married and the cost is pretty high I think fluffy will be happier at home with the family and then ya'll can have a cuddle fest to celebrate when you get home. I love Siamese and Himalayan cats! The conversation is always good.

Cute. But, I would also worry about having people come in when they come to clean up. They could accidentally let her/him out! But if it was more affordable, I would probably do it too.

I also think it's weird/stupid to travel with your pet(s).

Yes this is normal though I would not really trust bringing my pet to a hotel as the room service comes in to clean. Since you have a cat I would be concerned about if it would run out or not unless you have a very well trained cat. Yes though it is normal that you want to bring your cat on a business trip. It sounds like you care a lot about your animal.
