Is it normal to buy electric guitars but can't play on them?

I love to buy and collect electric guitars , but i can't play on any of them,it's hard. so is it normal to do that, i mean buying them? (i have 7 electric guitars and 1 acoustic).

    I wouldn't call it normal. But if it makes you feel any better, I own one and no matter how hard I try, I still have the skills of a blindfolded, fingerless monkey. I try really, really hard, too.

    I've got 3 electrics and 2 acoustics, but I play them all for atleast 2 hours a day. Don't you ever feel guilty that those guitars you 'collect' are being wasted? Sorry but as an avid guitar player this kind of pisses me off...

    Lol you must look like a right cunt when people see them and say 'Oh wow thats a lot of guitars, are you any good' and you say 'Oh no, I cant play at all'

      Well , i really don't brag about them in front of my friends and things like this, i just buy them and put them in a locked room, no one see them :)

    I had 2 acoustic guitars but couldnt play, i got lessons and now i can play a few songs :D
